Innotech Magellan Building Management Software

Features
• The Innotech Magellan Building Management Software incorporates the
monitoring and control of equipment, as well as data accumulation, and
data analysis in the one software package.

• Every hour the selected data is acquired by the Innotech Green Star
Database. This information is then used to analyse the system
performance, and allow expedient rectification of performance issues to
ensure the building maintains its Green Star rating.

• There is multi-level access to the system. The highest level of access
allows modifications to various items within the database. The selected
user is displayed in the Toolbar and logged to the Audit Trail.
Performance Summary|

• The “Performance Summary” indicates accumulative real-time values for
the current Day, Month and Year.

Please cick play for second part of demonstration.

• Pre-set adjustable performance targets are set for each device.

• Daily, Monthly and Yearly Projections of the system performance are
calculated every hour and displayed on the Performance Summary.
These are live-updating calculations which take into consideration the
number of hours remaining in each day, days in each month, and the
number of days in the current year.

• Any projections that exceed the preset Targets are flagged in “red”. This
allows simple viewing of the performance of the entire system, and
indicates where issues may need to be resolved.
• In this case the Mains KWh Meter is flagged to exceed the preset
Targets, which therefore requires further investigation.

Historical Data – Yearly
• From this page we can view the system performance for the selected
year, and easily indicate which months have higher than usual readings.

• The data is given as an actual value, as well as the simple viewing graph.
Note that this data is derived directly from the Innotech Green Star
Database.

Historical Data – Monthly
• Here we can see the selected month’s data. This view shows exactly
what days have higher than usual readings.

• From this data we could then view the trend data for the areas in
question to determine where the issues may be. These performance
issues could be:

Units and fans left in Manual Mode
Time-clock Schedules are not set correctly
Temperature setpoints are set too low, forcing cooling to run longer
Economy cycle control is not operational.

Historical Comparisons
• Once we have determined where the readings are abnormal, we have
the capabilities to compare between months or years for a particular
device, or even between meters.

• The comparison is displayed numerically and in a simple graph and may
show whether this abnormality has resulted before.

CO2 Sensor Analysis
• In this project we are monitoring CO2 levels in the return air of each VRV
unit, and modulating a fresh air fan variable speed drive. The highest
CO2 level for each individual sensor is written to the Innotech Green Star
Database daily.

• From this page we can view the highest CO2 level for each sensor for any
day in the month.

Adjustable Settings
• When logged into the BMS software, and you have the appropriate
access rights, you may visit the Settings pages. This allow modifications
to the names, targets and various other properties. These fields are
automatically updated in the Innotech Green Star Database.

• Any alterations by a user are logged to the audit trail, with the user’s
login details, the current time, and what exactly was changed. This may
be viewed through the “Access” pushbutton, but only by personnel with
the appropriate access level.

Overview of Presentation
The system you have just viewed is the Magellan graphical interface, which
may be used to monitor Innotech hardware, or 3rd party hardware via a high
level interface. For example: BACnet or Modbus Power meters, VRV/VRF
systems, Chillers and VSD’s.
The Magellan software allows viewing of real-time and historic trends, as well
as interrogation directly to the Innotech Green Star Database, without the
need for additional Excel spreadsheet development, or other data analysis
tools. The end result is a user-friendly flexible product for the client, service
technicians and consulting engineers.
Our belief is that the easier the system is to use, the more likely the system will
be monitored regularly, and kept to its performance targets.
