Air conditioning units, especially industrial ones and other motor loads may draw excessive current resulting in overheating during operation. Ordinarily, installing a thermal protective device (Z-Stat (TM)) in series with the line carrying current to the unit prevents such overheating. This occurs when the excessive current is detected, thus cutting off further current flow to the unit. The thermal protective device detects a safe operation by sensing its own temperature. Once the Z-Stat (TM) senses a decrease of temperature, it allows current flow to the unit to resume. As the Z-Stat (TM) often allows current restart before the unit has actually recovered from its overload, the thermal protective device cuts the current off once again. This process of cutting off and continuation of current flow may recycle many times before the system operates efficiently.
Z-Stat (TM) is a monitor for an inductive load. Short cycling is prevented by maintaining an off condition with a delay. The Delay has an adjustable time in excess of the cut-off sensor’s reset time.
The Z-Stat (TM) is perfect for Industrial air conditioners as well as office air conditioners and air cooling systems. This thermal protective device is proven to lower costs so you can aquire cheap air conditioning, and modern refridgeration.
The Z-Stat (TM) will work on any thru-the-wall HVAC system, including, but not limited to:
